Caravan and Trailer Insurance

You have three easy ways to apply for caravan and trailer insurance through 1300 Insurance. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you could buy your caravan and trailer insurance in the following ways:

  1. Get a quick quote and then buy securely online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  2. Complete an online quote then simply call one of the helpful consultants on 1300 467 872 to complete the purchase of your policy. Make sure you have your online quote reference number when you call.
  3. Call a helpful consultant on 1300 467 872 to get a quote and purchase your insurance over the phone.

The call centre is open Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 9.00pm (EST) and Saturday 8.00am to 5.00pm (EST).

Your insurer will aim to have all claims processed promptly and to make the process as easy as possible.

You can choose whether your insurance will start on the day you take out your policy, or within 30 days.

For your convenience and security, you can pay for your insurance securely online in two different ways. You can pay with a Visa or MasterCard, or alternatively you can choose to pay by direct transfer from your bank, credit union or building society account.

With 1300 Insurance you can spread the cost of your caravan and trailer insurance without paying extra. Whether you opt for an annual payment or monthly instalments, you’ll pay the same total premium – although if you pay by monthly instalments there may be small variations in amount due to rounding and financial institution fees may apply.

There are many benefits to applying for insurance online:

  2. Lodging your claim online is generally faster than over the phone

Just like buying your insurance over the phone, if you buy your caravan and trailer insurance online, your cover will begin on the start date you request. That date can be the same day, or within 30 days.

Caravan and trailer insurance comes with up to $1000 included cover for accidental loss of or damage to the contents you keep inside your caravan (but not your trailer). You have the option to increase this cover within specified limits, so that your camping furniture, bedding, utensils, crockery, provisions, household goods, clothing, and personal effects are protected.

If you’re involved in a covered accident, your policy includes benefits to help ease the burden – including cover for reasonable towing costs, reimbursement for the cost of emergency repairs of up to $500, and also up to $100 a day for emergency accommodation (up to $1000 in total) if your caravan is too badly damaged and your caravan was more than 100km from the address where it is normally parked at night at the time of the covered accident.

If you purchase this insurance, we will receive a commission that is a percentage of the premium. We will also receive a percentage of the profit which exceeds the profit threshold on Home (excluding flood), Landlord (excluding flood), Motor, Caravan and Trailer and Commercial policies referred by us to Allianz (or renewed with Allianz) in each calendar year, provided that the relevant premium threshold is met.
