Club Marine Pleasure Craft Insurance FAQs

You have three easy options to choose from to apply for Club Marine Pleasure Craft Insurance through 1300 Insurance. If you meet the eligibility criteria, you could buy your pleasure craft insurance in the following ways:

  1. Get a quote and then buy securely online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  2. Complete an online quote then simply call one of the helpful consultants on 1300 467 872 to complete the purchase of your policy. Make sure you have your online quote reference number when you call.
  3. Call a helpful consultant on 1300 467 872 to get a quote and purchase your insurance over the phone.

The call centre is open Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 8.30pm (EST) and Saturday 8.00am to 5.00pm (EST).

Pleasure Craft insurance provides cover for accidental loss of or damage to your boat, motor and trailer all in one policy, protecting you anywhere in Australia up to 250 nautical miles off the coast.

It also includes up to $20 million cover for your legal liability, for personal injury or damage you may accidentally cause through the use of your boat – and up to $50,000 cover for personal injury to the insured. You can lodge a pleasure craft insurance claim via Club Marine’s online claim form or via the Club Marine App.

Once Club Marine receives details of your claim, one of their friendly claims consultants will contact you as soon as possible.

Alternatively, you can call Club Marine on 1300 00 CLUB (2582), and select option 3 for claims, and one of Club Marine’s friendly consultants will take you through the claims process.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be able to get insurance with one easy online session or phone call.

You can choose whether your insurance will start on the day you take out your policy, or within 28 days.

Just like if you buy your insurance over the phone, your cover will begin on the start date you request. That can be the same day, or within 28 days.

You could reduce the cost of your Club Marine Pleasure Craft Insurance policy by increasing your excess1. You can even make savings on your premium for declared lay-up periods.

Market Value is the sale value of the Boat immediately prior to the claimed loss or damage taking into account the condition and location of the boat.

Agreed Value is the amount the insurer agrees to pay in the event of a Total Loss less the Policy excess. The amount is agreed by both you and the insurer in writing and valid until the next renewal date.

Your pleasure craft insurance includes membership of Club Marine Assist at no extra cost – a 24-hour service that gives you access to advice, assistance, directions and services any time you need it.

It also includes up to $5,000 of Club Care Benefits, in case you get stranded in an emergency. These include emergency fuel delivery, assistance with getting your boat back home, and help with the cost of medical evacuation or temporary accommodation. You’ll find the standard terms, conditions, limits and exclusions of cover in the PDS.

You can also download the convenient Club Marine app to record incidents, lodge claims and manage your policy all from your smartphone or tablet.

We know how valuable the gear and equipment you keep in your boat is. Club Marine’s pleasure craft insurance provides cover for fishing gear, tools, water ski and diving equipment, up to $1,500 for each item and up to $10,000 in total. It also provides cover for your personal possessions for up to $1,500 for each item and up to $10,000 in total. If you purchase this insurance, we will receive a commission that is a percentage of the premium. We will also receive a percentage of the profit which exceeds the profit threshold on Home (excluding flood), Landlord (excluding flood), Motor, Caravan and Trailer and Commercial policies referred by us to Allianz (or renewed with Allianz) in each calendar year, provided that the relevant premium threshold is met.
